I recently purchased a 64 Cat 2+2 4speed car. The former owner told the person I purchased it from, that it was a dealer sponsored car from the time it was new and was raced thru the early 70s. It then changed hands a few times and was repainted. It somehow made its way in to VA and then to MD and now into PA. The car was originally Yorktown Blue with an Ivory top and blue interior. The story is that the dealerships owner drove the car as a demo, (new for 64 2+2) and soon after the son then aquired it for drag racing. The 4 barrel was swapped out for a 64 tripower, then for a 66 TriPower/heads in 66, and then got a set of 670 heads(which are still on the car) apparently somewhere along the line the son lost intrest and a new driver came onboard. Then it switched out of a factory class and got an aftermarket 4bbl intake and a holley, which it still has. The car had 4:88s in it and was switched to 3:90s by the guy in VA(but I got the 4:88s with it). The car also has a bunch of blue strip SUN gauges in it, and had a Dixco Tach the the former owner kept. The trans also got swapped for a later model M21 somewhere along the way. Does anyone know of the dealership and if they had a sponsored car????? I would like to return it to its former glory if its true. Any info would help, and pictures would be GREAT. Id gladly pay you for the info to help in its restoration. PHS declares it was sent to TAYLOR PONTIAC DALLAS TEXAS around March or April of 1964. It also says its 1 of 1139 produced!
