Hi guys,
Just wondering if anyone has ever converted a turbo T/A to a manual transmission. I know it can be done, but has anyone actually done it?
thanks...

Sure it can be done, just find any 4-gear Pontiac powered donor car and start swapping. However, the catch is that an automatic lets the turbo spool up easier. If you read any of John Sawruk's articles over the years in HPP, you will find that Pontiac always found the turbo j-cars (sunbird) were quicker with auto. A 4spd maybe more fun to drive though, and HPP ran an article several years ago on how to get more out of your 80-81 turbo. Of course all this assumes you didn't mean the 89 turbo TA. Have fun!
Trying to help... 'cause we don't all have to learn the hard way!
