The 350 crank will fit, however there are some concerns. First is the balance of the crank- the 350 pistons are smaller and lighter than the 400 pistons, so the whole thing will have to be rebalanced. Now, many people will say that any time you bore a block and use oversize pistons, it will have to be rebalanced. I'm a realist, and while that is ideal, many engines get budget builds without the extra expense of balancing. I'm NOT saying this is OK, but most times in a low to medium performance build, you will not see any advantage(if using a 400 crank with new 400 pistons and stock rods). The other concern is the rear crank flange, there was a change somewhere between the years you are asking about, but I'm not sure what. What heads are you planning to use? If the 350 heads are 6x or 5c's they would make a good pump-gas combo on the 400.

Trying to help... 'cause we don't all have to learn the hard way!
