Frame interchangeability for 1969 GTO?

I recently purchased a 1969 GTO hardtop as a restoration project for my son and I. The frame is bent due to a front left colission. Does anyone know the interchangeability of frames from other years with '69 and also if the frames are the same for all A-bodies of the same year? I know that convertible frames are boxed, but that is about the only knowledge I have. I'm guessing that '68 and '69 are the most likely to have the same frame if sheetmetal is any clue. I have the front clip removed from my '65 currently, and it is definitely a different frame from the '69 (and substantially beefier too).

This car is definitely worth the trouble to repair. It is a Texas car with rust in the typical locations, but it is VERY complete. It has few options, but nothing has been removed from it. It has a completely original engine compartment (engine, heads, intake, carb, air cleaner, brackets, etc - it is all there and nothing replaced). It is a 350HP WT motor with 3-speed manual transmission. The first one I have ever seen with the base 3-speed.

Thanks for any help!

68-72 2dr model frames are all the same.  Sounds like you just have a base model GTO...

To my knowlegde all '68-'72 GM A-body coupe chassis interchange- that means your donor chassis could come from a Chevy, Buick, Olds, or Pontiac (am I missing any other GM division?). You probably will have to take some brackets off the old chassis to remount on the new one. And there may be slight variations from division to division. Since you're commited to a replacement chassis, I pull the old one off, take pics and measurements off the undamaged areas and then head down to the boneyard.
