Looking to purchase a 1971 Lemans sport convertible. It has a GTO enduro bumper and honeycomb rims. Was the gto hood an option in 1971 on the lemans sport? The current owner tells me it was and this is original also do the honeycomb rims come on this car? Thanks for any help

As far as I know, the '71 Lemans did not have a GTO hood as an option. The best way to find out exactly how the vehicle was factory built is to contact PHS historical services who can provide you a build sheet.

In 71 and 72 the GTO had returned to an option on the Lemans, the endura nose- including the GTO hood was optional without the GTO option, you could order a Lemans with all the GTO parts but no badges to avoid higher insurance rates. Even the 455HO was available. The honeycomb wheels were available, however on the convertibles, they were supposed to be limited to 14" because the taller 15" wheels and tires rubbed the inner wheel houses (reshaped to clear the folding top mechanism) also on 71's the honeycomb center caps were plain with no arrowhead, the arrowheads came in 72 and will fit if you aren't concerned with correct appearance. All of this info is in older issues of HPP, sorry I don't know which issues. Hope this helps.
Trying to help... 'cause we don't all have to learn the hard way!
