Today I changed out a set of cheap aftermarket gauges for a better set using the exact same electrical connections. After re-connecting the battery I discovered I had NO power to any accessories except the new voltmeter. The lights, ignition, horn, radio are all dead. The voltmeter reads about 14 volts. The voltmeter happens to run right off the positive battery post as did the old one.

What gives?

What other tests will help me narrow down the cause?
