Hello all can I please ask if anybody knowns of a company that can supply ready made of the shelf engine mounts so that I can install a 1970 pontiac 350 v8 motor into a 1979 G body Chevy Monte Carlo AS I am just about ready to pull out the old chevy engine and replace it with the pontiac 350 hooked up with a TH400 Autobox

Hey Tez! Glad to hear you're finally going to get at that swap, I should have covered this when we talked about this a while back. The frame mounts you need to order are the ones for a 78-81 Lemans or Grand Prix with a 301 (4.9L) and the engine side brackets from any 70's Pontiac block. If your block has either 3 or 5 mounting holes on each side this will work, if you only have 2 holes per side you will need the Indian Adventures adapter plates that are available thru Performance Years and Year One. These adapter plates go between the block and the 70's brackets and if you only have two bolt holes, the top hole in the 70's brackets goes unused. The trans mount should be OK but you may have to move the crossmember back on drill new bolt holes for the TH400 to fit, also the driveshaft will have to be shortened and the front yoke changed to a Th400 large diameter yoke. The universal joint should be the same. The shifter linkage will fit if you are using a column shift, if you have a floor shift, you will have to fabricate a shift cable bracket or modify the one from your original trans- the bolt spacing is wider. I know some of this will be costly and possibly difficult to access for you in the UK. What are your options for exhaust systems, will it have to pass emissions testing there? Can you get custom bent pipes? Let me know and I'll see what solutions I can come up with for you. Good luck from Canada!
