Hi all, Have the opportunity to buy a #matching 455 H/0 in Lucerne blue. The car is complete and running but needs some resto. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1972-PONTIAC-TRANS-AM-455-HO-AUTO-BULLNOSE-RARE_W0QQitemZ330188848352QQihZ014QQcategoryZ18301QQssPageNameZWDVWQQ
The owner says that the car was only one of 1200 bullnoses registered that year. As I am in England (as is the car) how would I go around verifying the originality of it? Also, where would be a good place to order parts. Would this car be a worthwhile investment as I am looking for a true muscle car. I have a lot of mechanical experience but less so when it comes to identifying types of car by year etc.
Thanks, Goon

Never heard the term "bullnose", but otherwise a very collectible and desirable ride. Look up Pontiac Historical Service, they can verify the authenticity of the car by the V.I.N. if the owner will give it to you, all you need is the vin and a credit card. Good Luck.
Trying to help... 'cause we don't all have to learn the hard way!

Thanks. I'm still undecided as to whether to go for it. Its a lot of money for a project (about $28,000) It seems very complete needing no floors or panels. Thing is that the pound is very strong here ( at the moment, about $2.1 to the £) and I am debating whether to just import a good one.

1972 was the low production year for all Firebirds due to a months long strike against GM, making it the rarest of all TAs. That 1972 sounds like it's almost identical to a 1971 TA 455HO that I bought for my wife back in the day. Both of us wish we'd never sold it.
Good luck!
