Brand new to the forum and I have a question about an intake swap I'd like to perform on my '68 Catalina convertible.

Car is currently/originally 400 cu in. w/ 2bbl.  I would like to install an original Tri-Power set up, although GM stop making it for Pontiacs in '66/'67?

Which Tri-Power intake, from the sixties, would work best for my vehicle?  Would I have to locate additional heads as well?

My purpose is to simply add some appeal under the hood.  I just want to set my car apart from the rest.  It's original except for wheels and tires and currently has 77,000 miles.

The last tripower setups were installed in 66, after that, the only cars that GM allowed to have multiple carbs were Corvettes. At some point the engine design changed slightly and the earlier manifolds didn't interchange with the later ones. I believe the changeover occured around 64 but I'm not certain. Can anyone else verify this?
If curb appeal is the only goal, then your heads should be fine, you may not make ultimate power but that's not what you're after, right?  

Oh yeah, I forgot, ther is the all new "six-shooter" intake available which will really add some flash.  

Thanks for the support and yes appeal is all I'm after.  This car is just our boulevard cruiser.  When I want to go fast, I autocross the Corvette!

I will continue researching on this end to locate hopefully a '66 tri-power manifold that will work with our 400.

As usual Barney is on the ball. I put a 66 set-up on my 69' GTO and ran it for years. As stated bolting it on is pretty straight forward. You may need to enlarge the bolt holes in the intake going to the heads slightly. The mechanical linkage may be best. With current costs what they are you may want to consider the Barry Grant unit.
 My only issue was tickets . You may also want to be sure to get into the full throttle range once a month or so to keep fresh gas in the front and rear carbs.If not they may want to flood . Also know you cant use an HEI with the stock intake. Im not sure about the BG.
