I need to repair or replace the lower dash inserts on my 70 LeMans convertible. Normal sources have only mylar self sticking foil with a machined finish. Looks nothing like the original, which is thick plastic with a raised border and horizontal grooves. I suspect that trying to take it off to clean and repaint silver will destroy it. Any ideas for a source?  It's a driver, but a very good restoration. The mylar looks cheap.
