Idling Problems with TBI 305

I have replaced the intake manifold gaskets, the TBI gaskets and the coolant temp sensor that is in the manifold next to the thermostat housing. The run problem is when started cold the engine idles at 800 rpm. As soon as the engine warms up the idle climbs to 1500 to 2000 rpm and stays there. I mean that as soon as the temp gauge moves the idle will climb. The IAC and the TPS have been changed. Any ideas out there?

You need to re-post this one as a request for Ray Bohacz, he is extremely good at figuring out these problems.

You might want to try replacing the O2 in so equiped. If an O2 is working properly it isn't in use untill the car gets to a certain temp, then the ECM will switch from one loop to the other and use the O2. Sounds to me like this is when you have the problem, when it starts to use the O2. Please let me know if this works for you, good luck!

How can I post a message to a specific individual? Ray is not listed on the site.

By the way, I have replaced the 02 sensor and the map sensor. No luck. So I'm watching Ebay for a intake manifold and 1406 Edelbrock Carb for a replacement.

When did the problem start? Did it coincide with recent work? Did it suddenly begin one day out of the blue?

I was bringing the car back to life. It had been sitting in a driveway since 1998. I had to replace the fuel system including the TBI. Since the first time I started it the car has been working like the TBI is working in reverse. It dumps little fuel on start up but starts dumping allot of fuel when the engine warms up. I now have all the parts I need to convert to carb. I have a Performer RPM Intake, 1406 Edelbrock carb and a 6 psi Mr gasket regulator. So my problem will be fixed very soon.
