I was wanting to know how hard it was to to swap a 403olds to a 455olds in a 1979 trans am? Any info would be great ! thanks alot

Really easy! Unbolt the 403 and bolt it's mounts onto the 455, bolt it in! The only real concern is the accerory mount brackets. If I recall correctly the 403 brackets work with slightly longer belts (the 455 has a slightly taller deck height). The possible exception is the a/c compressor if you have a/c. But if you have the 455 accessories and brackets, rock-on. The only other thing to consider is the exhaust cross-over pipe (if using stock exhaust) will have to be found for a 455 or made at any good muffler shop (because of the deck height the 455 is also slightly wider. I don't think the shaker hood will cause problems because the overall height is probably less than an inch. I've seen several of these swaps over the years and they work great and look almost stock if done right. Have fun with all that torque! Steve
