2nd Gen Firebird disk brake swap to A-body

Somewhere in a past article I recall reading about using the disk brake parts ie. spindles, calipers,rotors, master cylinder, proportioning valve,etc. from a 2nd Gen Firebird for a swap into a GM A-body. In my case I would like to upgrade my 1968 GTO clone with front disk brakes and I have a complete Firebird brake system. Is this a reasonable swap to do?
