Apples or oranges? Which do you like better? That's what it comes down to. For a purely stock resto you can buy just about any part you need for all of them. How are you going to drive it? If cornering is your thing the second gen f-cars will out turn any of the GTO's in stock form. But the Goats, with the exception of the last two years, have generally more power from the stock engines. The exception is the first gen Birds and early second gens that had basically the same engine options as the Goats. Now the biggie is purchase price, if you are looking to find a project starter under $5000, you aren't going to find many solid, straight, numbers matching GTO's. You will however find later second gen TA's to work with (or Formulas/Firebirds). Each body style has it's pluses and minuses, like my Formula, I wasn't thinking very straight when I bought it, considering I have a wife and three young boys. I have often thought that I should have bought a GTO or Tempest/Lemans instead. Like I said, it depends on how you will use it and your personal preference. Steve
Trying to help... 'cause we don't all have to learn the hard way!
