Ok I was looking at my motor today the 70 pontiac 350 just checking up on it and getting it prep'd up to send to the rebuilder and when I believed I had #11 heads, they say #47 on them. To me this is confusing??? #47 heads are off a 69 350 block, am i right?
hi dave.yes,they are off a 265hp 350ci. ihave a pair i pulled off my 69 350ci 2bbl
Dave, there is a possibility that they are the original heads. Check the date codes, they could be the end of 69 production used on a very early 70 motor, depends on when your car was built of course. Both of my 75 blocks, the 350 and the 400 were early 75 production (October 74) and the cams in each were 74 pieces- the 350 had an 066 instead of the 555 and I don't recall the 400's numbers but it was the last year's cam.
A little help... 'cause we don't all have to learn the hard way!
Thanks guys on the help, I just find this interesting to me, theres so much more I want to know about the car, i know that my car was introduced as a 70 1/2 but thats kinda crazy they would use last years parts for some of the motor, or even the motor itself can be 69, dunno but before it goes to the rebuilders next week ill do my research and see what other mysteries I can find lol
