Hi, new to the forum. Does anybody remember an article from 2001 about the 301 motor by High Perf Pontiac ? The article was titled : The go-fast 301 . It was written by Tom deMauro and it describes the pro's and cons on the 301. I would really appreciate it if anyone could provide me a copy of this article. I have swapped this motor into my 1954 chevy belair and would like to know a lot more tech about it. Everyone says it's a piece of crap , but to my opinion it runs great..... thanks, fred netherlands

Hi Steve, thanks for all the trouble you took to get it to me. I still had a hard time reading it , because it didn't get very sharp . But , I took the time and I managed to read it and it is a very interesting article indeed. According to the author , the 301 is not a populair power engine at all , but that doesn't matter - there are no dragstrips in Holland anyway. I already made a set of big custom headers for it with cherrybombs and pleased it with an edelbrock 1406 , so I am on the right track ! thanks again,Steve. fred

Hi all, just joined myself. I too have the 301 in an '81 Buick Century. Any chance of getting a copy of that article as well? Eventually I'm gonna swap for a Pontiac 350 or 400, but for now the engine just runs too good, and I just want to give it a few extra ponies to make it a bit more fun.
Thanks, Aaron
