Hi, I am restoring a 1970 GTO.  I have built a 462 CU IN pontiac motor for it.  I have also purchased a 12 bolt rear end for it.  Now, I'm at the point where i need to decide on a gear ratio and transmission.  I am going with a 4 speed muncie, but I am not sure if I need a close ratio or a wide ratio and what rear gear to go with.  I want to be able to drive it, not just race it, but still have the low end for some fun.  I was thinking of a 3.08 rear ratio with a wide ratio for its low 1st gear.  Any advice?  

I would go with the wide ratio and a 3.23-3.42 rear gear.
