i have recently ran across a mint set of 421 emblems for a gto,if my indicators are correct.they match the emblems on this sites 64 gto.i would like to know what they are worth and maybe take a bid or two on them .they both have original boxxes and have been in a garage for no telling how long.part number is 9770036 . boxxes are yellowed from age and not perfect.thanks in advance for any info you can provide.if you want to chat call me at (615)573-9689

While the 421 emblems are cool, likely rare and possibly worth some money, they are not for a GTO. The 421 never came in a GTO from the factory. 1964-66 GTO's came with 389's, either 4bbl or tripower, that's it, no 421's. In 67 the 389 was replaced by the new 400's and tripower was dropped. Then in 1970 the 455 became available. The 421 was only available in the full size cars such as Catalina, 2+2, Bonneville etc. In 67 the 421 was replaced by the 428 in the same full size lines only.
Jim Wangers admits to having the "Red Car" 64 GTO test car built as a "ringer" with a Royal Bobcat prepped 421 tripower, but that was for the famous Pontiac GTO vs Ferrari GTO magazine road test.
Any GTO with a 421 and/or 421 badges is a modified car, even if it was dealer installed early in the car's life and while definitely cool, it's not original.

Steve is 100% correct about no factory 421.    However Royal Pontiac had many more than one 421 floating around.    All it took me was $750 and my old 389 in 1967
