Redoing a 71 firebird. Upgrading from a 400 to a 455 and want to get rid of the TH350 and install a manual. What options are out there? did pontiac make an OD 5 speed that would work? if not. are there any other choices besides the muncie?

I would think you could install the 6 speed tranny from either late model corvette or camaro will have to fab the clutch slave as most of the early pontiacs use linkage to the clutch pedal.  

Here's a website for you to look at.  Seems to be bolt in for the most part.  They have everything but the bellhousing.
