this is my dad's car and he wants more performance out of his 326 and still looking stock without an edelbrock intake or something. so the question is that if i get an intake manifold from a 400 engine like a trans am or something will it fit on his 326? if so does it matter what year? i know the choke is differnet on some like heating a tube by the coolant and some with that box on the top of the manifold. i have a 4bbl rochester that opens the choke by the heat of the coolant would that be on all 4bbl intakes and the 2bbl use the box? it is a 67 lemans if that makes a difference.

Although the 67 326 could bbe had in 4bbl form, it used the old style Carter 4bbl and intake, all the 400, including 67 had Q-jets and the matching intake. So to look truly stock you need a 67 326 4bbl manifold and carb or a pre-67 389/421 setup. Of course the Q-jet will work and looks alot more "stoc" than any aluminum aftermarket manifold. Steve
Trying to help... 'cause we don't all have to learn the hard way!

The 4 barrel option was available for these motors back in day. The old AFB is still a good carb if the cross staffs aren't worn out. They can be rebushed better than new. Air cleaner and everything could be very stock in appearance. Edelbrock just copied that design and refined it. But nothing wrong with original. There is a junk yard here that specializes in 64-72 GM cars and has Potiacs among them. If you want I can check with him to see what's in stock. Some of the best junk yards I have found have caved in to the crusher guys and sold out.
