I have minor leakage between the tri-power intake and the ***   This occurred after re-building the carbs and installing the re-painted intake with new gasket between the intake and pump.

Somewhere I have seen an article on separating the water crossover   from the runners.

Is this a reasonable idea?   Is sealing to the head still good with just one bolt per side?  Any other suggestions ??

Thanks!!!

The proper method of installing the intake is to loosely install the manifold bolts, then torque the bolt from the front cover to the intake first. This seats the rubber gasket between the manifold and the front cover first, then the intake bolts are torqued to spec. The trick of cutting off the water cross-over is a good idea when port matching the heads and intake as you can keep the ports aligned without worrying about the cross-over.

Steve,
thanks for the reponse.    Your suggestion is exactly how the manifold was re-installed    .

I may search for a thicker  or very thin extra gasket if I decide not to cut!
