Hi. I´m running a 1974 Pontiac 350 in my 66 catalina. I use it on the road loaded with friends, and then the engine is a little tired. So my question is: Can I put on a pair of edelbrock performer cylinderheads on my engine? Will the valves clear from the cylinderwalls? My original heads is a pair of 4C:s, with 96cc chamber volume and 1.96/1.66 valves. Anyone who knows? Thank you for your answer.

Yes they will fit as long as you are not running a high lift cam. I would recomend a set with 72CC cumbustion chambers.

Hi Pontiacman 8. Thank you for your answer. It will make things easier. But what camshaft do you recommend? I don´t know wich camshaft I have inside but I have the 155hp version and it has never been taken apart, so it should be an original unit. Thanks for taking your time.

before pulling the heads make sure you do a compression and a leak down test if you say the motor is tired you should check the bottom end before spending money on the top just to be dissapointed then look into the cam for that application i use a comp cams part # k51-224-4 this will wake that cat from the dead without sacrificing drivablity

I recomend a lunati cam & lifters P#00072LK for street use or P#00071LK for street/strip use and a new timing set as well.
