well i was just about finished with putting my engine together when a certain somebody pissed me off and I had to do something to get it off my mind but I already lost control and decided to work on my motor. I had to put the intake on and stupid me put rtv silicone on the intake and heads so the gaskets would stick which is a BIG no. By the time i cooled off my tempure, i realized what I did and got even more mad, so I took the intake off and started scraping the dried gasket sealer doing my best from it going into the flange holes. I got most of it off the heads and still have to do intake but while I was cleaning it off with an xacto knife, some itty bitty pieces fell into thehead flanges and I was able to retrieve some of the silicone, but pretty sure what was left was nothing bigger than the size of the tip of a pencil. My question is... is it ok if these tiny pieces are left in the head or am I going to have to break down the motor and clean it out? There shouldn't be too much down there but I keep hearing that it is ok to leave it alone and the rest will burn up and go out the exhaust, but i also hear that I should get it out, what should I do? I'm guessing maybe 4-7 little pieces almost invisible to the naked eye are in there

If the engine is on a engine stand you can turn it up side down and with all the valves closed spray brake or carb. cleaner in the intake runners to flush them out...

I probably wouldn't worry too much about it, silicone is pretty soft, try blowing it out with compressed air (either bar the engine over to get the valves closed on each cylinder before you blow it out or back off all the rockers to close the valves. Either way next time you'll plug the ports with paper towels, won't you! Steve
