I have a 78 TA guage and a gray light wire that came out of it's female on the right side of the speedo. Does anyone know where this would plug into.

Typical GM harness would have a female plug right there. If everything is lite up radio, temp control panel etc. this maybe just a dead end that could light some option your car doesn't have.
