What advice I am looking for is I'd like to rebuild the 400 to be a nice driver with more power. Comment?? suggestions?? Oh,, this is a resto so with the exception of headers or RA exhausts its needs to look stock. any help!!! Oh the 78 cant be saved kinda looks like the Titanic Thanks, pete

What is the casting numbers on the heads and how much power are you looking for out of the 400. Then I could suggest a combo for your engine.

Im picking up the drivetrain next week and Ill give you all the info, but if i had to guess it got no A/C, auto and is a stripper. As for power, this car belongs to my stepfather who bought it new.So im looking for a moter that idles smooth and will never see the high side of 5,000. I dont really want to scare him but im unwilling to live with that 301.
