326 HEADS ON 400

HEY GUYS I HAVE A 67 MODEL 326 (HEAD #140)
 I AM LOOKING AT A 400 FROM A 72 BONNEVILLE. THE HEAD ON THE 400 IS 7J2.
WILL MY 326 HEADS WORK ON THE 400.
        ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Except for the compression ratio, the air flow is probably pretty much the same.  A 9.2:1 326 head on a 400 yields around 10:1, which is generally considered too high for today's gasoline.  

If it were my car, I'd keep the 7J2s on the 400.  Better yet is get a set of 6X-4s for your 400.

The 62cc 326 heads will work on the 400 but unless you are going to use race fuel the 11:1 C.R. will be way to high for pump gas.
