Chevy 350 in 78 Firebird

I need some help i cant seem to fit my chevy 350 into my 78 firebird. i pulled a olds 350 which fit no problem.  i tried both sets of holes for the mounts, but it always seems to be about 1/2 inch to low. can this engine even fit in the car i need some help.    btw the mounts came from a 78 camaro becasuse the old pontiac ones wont fit.

Just a shot in the dark, but did the block brackets come from a van or fullsize pickup? Some of them had mounting holes drilled at a wider spacing. So when you set them down on the frame mounts, it looks as if the frame mounts need to sit higher on the crossmember. If this is the case, find a set of block brackets from any Chevy V8 car (267/305/350) from the 70's or 80's.
