Hello, i have an original 71 formula 455. I will restored it. I have also 13 cylinder head. Now my question: is this possible? I think the compression will be to high. Is there some guy, they have experience?? Thanks 4 help Foggy

Yes with flat top pistons the compression will be too high on the 455 for the use of the #13 heads. the #13 heads are good high power heads.

What's the code on the block? Should be YC, YE, WC or WL. Only YC had non-HO heads (round port exhaust), i.e. had casting 66 with D-port heads.

By the way, if indeed you have a 455 with 1970 RAIII #13 heads and you are going to rebuild it, lower compression pistons are available from a variety of sources for about the same price as flat top pistons.

ok, but i have no flat top pistons. Is it possible with other pistons?? What can i do? What are good heads?? 4x?!? 6x?!? Ore new alu heads from other producer? i don´t know. My new crakshaft is frieday comming, than i assembly the motor with #13 heads.

The code block is YE. The original head are missing. I have also 4x head, but they are damaged.

Yes with the proper dish top piston the #13 heads will be fine what is the engine bored too and than I could give you a part number.
