i have a 80 ta with a auto floor shift and finding parts is getting pretty slim so i have a few questions about swapping columns and what year and model cars to pull the parts from...

I have heard of guys using column shifter style columns from gm cars to replace the floor shift, which gm columns could i substitute with?

i could repair mine as well instead of swapping the whole thing.  Are most gm columns using the same internal parts? which other gm columns could i use for parts?

any info is welcome, thanks...

Hold on there,, your car has a floor shifter? correct? All T/As came with floor shifters. All, as in every one. so if you put in a column shift then everyone, and i mean everyone, will call the car a fake. There are parts out there I mean really GM made a Zillion TA Z-28 Camaros and firebirds. Most had floor shifts. Check EBay,,Hit Carlise or a local swap meet. check Hemmings. There is no way parts are getting slim for that.
