I have a 78 grand prix with a 301 in it. As you all know these engines are crap and i want to swap out. I'm currently in the process of rebuilding a chevy 350 and auto trans i have pulled out of a 76 chevy silvarado. I know i will have to remount the battery box and reroute my fuel lines to make this swap work. engine mount wise i have no idea yet. So if anybody could give me any tips it would be much appreciated.

Hudge, it's likely the easiest swap in the world (from one engine brand to another). Simply find any 78-87 GM G-body car :Cutlass, Regal, Malibu, Lemans, Grand Prix, even the wagons and 4-doors with a 267/305 Chevy and copy what the factory did, most of these cars are virtually identical underhood so almost all the parts interchange. Of course you could trade off the Chevy and find a nice 350 or 400 Pontiac to bolt-in, it will replace your 301 with no problems and you won't believe the torque compared to a stock 350 Chevy, and more power is easily gained by a few well planned mods. Let us know which way you go and we can help with any problems that pop up. Steve

I agree a pontiac 350 or 400 would be alot better and will have more torq.
