Rob, More than one poster over at PZ and PY has built a 462 stroker that reportedly makes around 525-575 hp, and that is with ported iron heads and a hyraulic roller (Comp Cams XR288HR). Upgrading to a ported e-head would probably push that number into the 600+ hp range, but not much more.
You would probably have to go to a turbo, CV-1 or Tiger full race heads on an IA II or MR-1 500+ CID aftermarket block to make over 600 hp. The stock block has also been known to split in half over 600 hp as well.

I would try www.pontiacengines.com that is bruce fulper's site I think he sells his ported e- brock heads for $2800 which is more than capable of the 600HP mark.spilting a pontiac block in half would take alot more than 600H.P.
