I just bought 2 cars out of a barn in so. ohio tha t have been stored since 1980s.1 is a 65 GTO verified by PHS.The other is a 63 Catalina 2 door 421 HO tri-power 4 speed with factory Tach and AC.PHS says it is a 389 auto without AC.This car was sold new in Orlando Florida and built in Atlanta,Ga.I've had several local Pontiac enthusiast look it over and all agree it is a fatory original paint with 46,000 miles.I would like to know did they build cars like this, some said it may be a factory executive car or demo.thanks for any info or help. contact@937-603-3901

I think that your Cat has been modified by a prior owner. Before the GTO (1964), a lot of people hot rodded the big body cars. I would not be surprised at your 63 Cat's configuration since one could get Trips and 4-speeds at the local wrecking yard back then and that was easy enough to bolt on.
Back in the day, I put factory air in a 1971 Trans Am 455HO 4-speed. I would not recommend that conversion to the casual owner, but it is possible that your Cat was also converted.
In any case, congratulations on a terrific "barn" find!

I know there has been alot of cloning. This car has been in the same barn for 16 plus years.Yesterday,I had a Pontiac collector come from 1 hour away to give me his opinion. He opened his books and looked for 2 hours and said he is sure it is an original 46,000 mile car with original paint. The hole where the clutch rod and shifter come through the sheet metal are original. The numbers all match 63 prduction.Regardless I got it strated last night and drove it up and down the road. Thanks so much for your input.
