I have a 68 gto with  a 400 and have had the engine in and out of the car 4 times in the last 6 years and cannot get it to stop leaking.  I am using a BOP rear main seal and read the article where Jim Taylor responded on how to do the pan gasket.  This spring I will pull the engine again and follow his steps on how to do the pan gasket.

I am looking for a book on how to rebuild the engine that might have good advice on how to put in the rear main and do my lower end myself.

Any and all info greatly appreciated!!!!

Is it leaking after you put the BOP seal in? Try the new graphite seal- installs like the old asbestos rope seals but lasts longer and seals well.
