Hello....
I have a 68 Firebird that was originally an AC car. I'm looking at replacing the front coil springs, but when I look the numbers up, it tells me that there are different springs for the AC cars vs the non AC cars. Any reason for this that anyone knows about?
Thanks, AK

SPRINGS FOR AC CARS ARE DIFFERENT BECAUSE OF EXTRA WEIGHT. ON MY 68 BIRD I INSTALLED QA1 COIL OVER SHOCKS($360 FROM JEGS) THEY WENT IN EASY AND CAR HANDLES GREAT,AND THEIR FULLY ADJUSTABLE TO CHANGE THE RIDE HEIGHT.STOCK SPRINGS NEVER FIT RIGHT AND WIIL MOST LIKELY NEED TO BE INSTALLED ,REMOVED,CUT,REINSTALLED. IT IS MUCH CHEEPER TO SPEND MORE MONEY ON THE COIL OVERS AND SAVE ON ALL THE LABOR. GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for the advice, I called Jegs and talked to a teck support guy, He told me they were popular I had some from another 69, they looked new so I had them powder coated and installed them but the front end sits to high. Thanks for the info, I'll try the QA1's
