Hi guys I have a set of snowfake rims but they are dull having been stored in my shed many years. They are in good shape with very few scratches or nicks but they are dull. Have any of you freshened them up by some type of blast media or is there a better way to bring back the shine? thanks

Hi there i would not blast them at all!I did my set of 4 with super fine sand paper on the lip and got all the grey discolored stuff of then used mother's wheel polish til they shined like chrome and did this with all of them it took a good weekend but the finished rims on my T\A was worth it they look great good luck.

Hi guys, my snowflakes were alse pretty damaged from corrosion from sitting in the shed for 12 years.  I had mine blasted with baking soda and they came out beautiful.  Still dull and needing to be polished but there was no sign of the previous tarnish and corrosion.  Hope this helps

I cleaned mine real good and then took an electric power drill with a very fine metal brush to burnish the whole thing. If you look around at different size and shape wire brush wheels you can find one that is perfect for the job. A "drimmel" is also very useful for the delicate polishing around all those webs.

This was time consuming, but I also masked off all the webbing with 1/4 " masking tape and spray painted the insides of the snowflakes to match the car. When I pulled off the tape, all I had to do was remove the overspray with MEK and a shop rag. That soda blasting is definantly the best way to initially clean the crud off.
