I think its a 69 GTO

The YS is the engine code the ys code was use for several years and for 389 and 400 engines there should be more number running vertically right beside the timing cover and that will be the vin. There will be a date code as well in the b ack by the distributor.

It is most likely a 400 from 1968 or 1969 with 350HP. If it is a 1968 and has the original heads they will be #16. If it is a 1969 and has the original heads they will be #62. It also has 2bolt mains and comes up as GTO.

That is march 19,1968 for the year. What is the head codes they are located on the center exhaust ports of the heads.
