Ok hypothetical for everyone.

Lets say Pontiac had stayed and gone another direction. Going more toward their roots and heritage, and they did produce a new 70's retro Trans Am. Who would have bought it at the prices mentioned for the Camaro?

Would I have wanted one? Definitely! Could I afford to buy one? Highly unlikely given a one income family with young kids to support. Interesting side note: the Oshawa Ontario plant is offering overtime so they can run an extra shift to produce enough Camaros to meet the 10,000 unit back orders. I think Chevy lovers are grabbing all the Camaros they can considering GM is talking bankruptcy too.

I would have bought the Trans Am in a heartbeat. GM has me so pissed off it will be a long time before I buy another vehicle from them!! GM still doesnt get it and have put to much junk on the Camero adding to a way overpriced car. Why does adding 2 cylinders jump the price $10,000 dollars? I really don't need a GPS/ onstar system on a hot rod. Power heated seats,18 inch wheels,ect.ect.ect. Take out all the junk, give us a v8 and price it at $ 15,000 Dollars. In fact GM should make several no option basic transportation cars to make the money and save the frills for the people who want caddys.I bet they wouldn't be bankrupt now if they had done this in the first place. Wow didn't a guy named Ford do this with the Model T? Get back to basics GM.

I have seen several different versions of a TA based on the new 5th Gen Camaro. Money providing I would have been in line for just about any one of them.
