So who's sent feedback so far?

If you have valid email addresses to send complaints post them here so we can bug the hell out of them!! I'm not going to just sit by while this happens.

Wasting your time man! This is what is being done to appease the government in order to get the bailout cash. In truth Pontiac has been dead for years, in my personal opinion, since the last 301 powered Pontiac rolled of the line. I suppose you could make an argument for the 2.5 Iron Duke engine and the Fiero which was purely a PMD effort. But with the exception of the Fiero, everything Pontiac produced after '81 was just a rebodied Chevy. The quality over the last 20 years (at least) has been downhill and lets not even consider such doomed plots as "Aztec" and "Torrent". Relax and enjoy the great Pontiacs of the past, they were great then and they will be even greater now that they are a "fallen flag".

Ok you two lay down and just let it die without any sorta fight and suck your thumbs.

IF YOU DO NOTHING, THEN NOTHING GETS DONE.

It sickens me to think anybody who loves Pontiac would just let it die this way. No I don't think it's right that they use corporate engines (an LS here a northstar there) but did you do anything when Bob Putz turned Pontiac into PMW...I'm guessing....NOT just based off your responses. I sent emails, feedbacks about it every chance I could. I b*tched at the autoexpos, the dealerships and any other place I could. To no avail yes, but the responses were all the same. "Sorry but our market research shows this is the trend", "Consumer studies show that the current and future development of Pontiac as laid out by Bob Putz has recieved positive feedback.", or my favorite "We have not received complaints on this subject till yours." (I was b*tching about the G6 and the last Grand Prix). So if this is how we all deal with how Pontiac is being run no wonder it's done, sit and do nothing.....NEVER!!

I maybe wasting my time, but at least I'm willing to do something instead of sitting on my *ss saying "man, sombody should do somthing bout dat!, or what's the use dey ain't gonna listen ta us anyway. You sit by and do nothing, as for me I'll keep fighting the best way I can and would appreciate help from Loyal Ponco fans.

Who's sucking their thumbs? You are the one doing all the whining about it! I really don't care, they haven't built anything that I'm interested in buying in years. Decade after decade of mismanagement, lackluster quality and uninspired design have led them to this and now all the execs who orchestrated the sham will bow out with big bonuses and a pat on the back for saving GM. What's to cry about.

Hmmm I didn't realize b*tching about what was going on and taking a stand was whining. I couldn't afford what they were building let alone bring myself to buy anything for sometime now. If the last Grand am GT had a stick I might have bought one, but it's replacement was over priced and the name sucked G? just isn't Pontiac.

Werewolf486:

Seriously... why in the world would GM listen to you? You already have said you aren't buying and can't afford to buy a new car from them. They build cars for the wants and needs of potential customers who can afford to buy the products they build. They don't build'em for folks that sit on the sideline or wait to buy them used.

The new Pontiacs are actually pretty nice and of course are nothing like the cars Pontiac built 40 years ago in 1970. If you or a family member needed life-saving surgery would you want a doctor to use procedures and equipment from 40 year's ago or rather the best tools and procedures available in the here and now!?

I think we all tend to forget how prone our classic Pontiac V-8's were to overheating, hot start problems and leaking timing covers back in the day. Not exactly endearing to the average consumer back then, and intolerable for today's consumers.

I rent cars pretty regularly and I recently rented a G6 in S-Cal. It was a blast to drive, manuevered great on the 405 freeway in both heavy and light traffic, accelerated and stopped quickly and was solid and rattle free! The A/C system, and sound system were great too. No, it wasn't a '70 GTO or '71 *** but nobody uses beasts like those anymore for daily business driving or taking clients out to lunch. As far as the naming goes, I don't like them either, but c'mon...it's just the name... to blow off an entire line of cars just because you object to the name is pretty banal. The G-8 is totally cool and is an in-your-face competitor to the ever snobby, euro-BMW crowd. I'd take the G-8 any day, regardless of what it's called... hell, you could always put Grand Prix badging on it and call it a day!

Times have changed, and so must we. It's much too easy to be caught in, or live in the past. Life is in the here and now, and the GM of today is not the GM of 40 years ago. It was a good ride while it lasted.

I wish you luck in your quest, but don't get hit by any windmills!

Werewolf486: Don't listen to them, If every one had the " It wont do any good " attitude, nothing would ever get done!!! Expressing your opinion to those that that can change things is always a good idea, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ASK FOR IT. So I took your advice, followed the link and gave GM my opinion as well. It only took a few minutes and I type pretty slow.

"Seriously... why in the world would GM listen to you? You already have said you aren't buying and can't afford to buy a new car from them."

-Yes and they're the reason I can't! Over priced out the butt!

"The new Pontiacs are actually pretty nice and of course are nothing like the cars Pontiac built 40 years ago in 1970."

-The Gwiz names gotta go! The styling has been crap!! The names they come up with? Solstice? Aztec? G? Holy CRAP!! The G8 is ok, the G6 GXP is nice but not as good on fuel as my older Grand AM GT.

"If you or a family member needed life-saving surgery would you want a doctor to use procedures and equipment from 40 year's ago or rather the best tools and procedures available in the here and now!? "

-what are you kidding me........apples/oranges.....

" but c'mon...it's just the name... to blow off an entire line of cars just because you object to the name is pretty banal."
-Who blew them off, I would have enjoyed a G8, and yes I would have removed the badges and either left it blank or got Bonny badges for it. The G6 would have made a nice daily car except the fuel economy and price SUCKED. Way out priced the last Grand Am GT!

"Times have changed, and so must we. It's much too easy to be caught in, or live in the past. Life is in the here and now, and the GM of today is not the GM of 40 years ago. It was a good ride while it lasted."

-I'm ok with change, but it has to be for the best not for the end!!
