Yea, it still has the low vac issue. I don't know what the hell is causing it.
It has been doing this weird thing lately. I'll take the car out for a drive and while it's warming up sometimes it back fires and pops badly under even light acceleration. The engine will be very near operating temperature (160* t stat), but it will still act up.

Have you checked for vacuum leaks? What is the timing set at? You could have wiped a lobe on the cam out due to the poor oil pressure.

18* BTDC. No vac leaks, I have looked and looked. When I idle the engine with the valve covers off, I can watch each rocker moving the same amount.

Man, check the oil galley plug on the pass. side of your' cam plug on th rear of your block. If it is not there then you will definately have a valve train lube issue. Refer to Jan. 09 Hot Rod ( 101 Tech Tips)pg.76. I hope this helps.Dave

Yea, I have heard about those plugs and I understand that if it was missing I would have valve train oiling issues. But, I haven't been in there, so unless someone broke into my garage at night, took apart my engine, removed the oil galley plug, then put it all back together and left, it should be in there...
