Never used one Jeff, check for interference at block face-heard a few horror stories Did it come with a cam buton or thrust washer?Instructions and what to look out for? Is it a fixed idler type or 1 for cam, crank and a dual gear with bar to mesh these 2?Just have never used 1 let me know what you find out.

Hi. It is a dual idler type to mesh the gears, according to the directions, it should fit under the timing cover w/o any modifications. I will let you know how it goes, I will not get this together thhis summer, though. Thanks for the reply. JB

Hi Jeff...FYI I have SB 350 with the gear drive it works great, but as you said it is NOISY! At first when I bought the car i liked it...thought it was kinda cool when driving down the road and at a stop light the car next to me ask's, "Do you have a blower on that thing"? LOL, it was good for a laugh when you just give them the thumbs up, and then pull away when the light turns green.
But, after having it for a 2 years I am considering switching to a run of the mill chain drive. My reason? I like the rumble you get from the engine...with the noisy gear drive it is hard to hear that.
Happy cruising!
Craig
