I have a 1969 Pontiac LeMans Custom S and I need to do some body work. Im only 18 and i am very new to fixing up cars. Not new to old cars though. I need to take the paint off and put primer on it but i dont know how. Any suggestions? my dad is a mechanic and he knows how to do the body work but he just isnt around enough to help.

I use a air powered DA sander with 40 grit paper I do not recommend paint stipping chemicals because they make a huge mess and can effect the new paint.

Well first off you will need a good air compressor you should be able to get a decent DA sander for $50 you can get cheaper ones then that from places like harbor freight tool store if there is one in your area.
