Firstly, anyone with any 1982-1984 Firebird come to http://www.earlythirdgen.com for help, info, etc.. Its a great site/forum for these cars!

OK, Im wondering if anyone out there has REAL info regarding these two rare Trans Am's, any Official Pontiac Factory or Dealer literature regarding any 1982-1984 Firebirds, and any oddball aftermarket items available for these cars back then. There is a person who just found, what appears to be, one of the few 1982 Daytona Pace cars and needs info, very rare, info like who drove the pace cars, any info at all! They were Bright Red, (not the 1983 Daytona), Yes, they do exist.

As for the 1984 Recaro *** I own one and am looking for more info regarding this rare car. Mine has less than 50K and is very heavily optioned. All 1984 Recaro Trans Am were Black with Gold trim, Tan Leather Recaro seats, Ttops, HO L69 305, 700R4 or T-5 5 speed, W62 ground effects, and some special trim. There was 1321 units built. Im looking for anything, like production stats, literature, T-5% vs 700R4%, etc...
For More info, questions, please come to http://www.earlythirdgen.com and post up the info.
This Site is Only for 1982-1984 Firebird models, including Base Models, S/E's, Trans Am's, Recaro T/A's, Daytona Pace Cars, 15th Anniversary cars, MSE cars by Mecham, etc.

Thank You Everyone! God Bless and Travel Well, Brother Al

I read an article a few years ago about the Recaro TA's, I'll see if I can dig it up this weekend. I know the early manual cars came with 4 speed t-10's. When I read the article and learned how rare they were, I started kicking myself. I test drove one with the LG4 305/T-10 that was traded in at a local Chrysler dealer in late 89 or early 90 and passed on it because the seats were so uncomfortable (I was 6ft tall and 215lbs). If I had only known I would have traded my 80 Camaro in and bought the TA and swapped in some wrecking yard seats for regular use and stored the Recaros. Right place, right time, no money and no info!

Thanks Barney!
Been there before... Missed a few rare cars for lack of funds or not knowing what it was at the time. I've wanted a Recaro for a loooong time. I sold my beloved '86 Firebird several months ago to buy this Recaro for the low, low price of $4800.
The LG4/T10 was only in the 1982 Recaro's.
The L69 305 and the T-5 5 speeds and 700R4 AT's came out in 1983.
There were also Red w/ Black Cloth Recaros available in the 1981 Trans Am Turbo Pace Car.

Also, Do you own a 3rd Gen? If you're in New England or close by, check out our all inclusive 3rd Gen site: http://www.necamaro-firebird.org
It is open to any F-body, but we are primarily a 3rd Gen site.
Yet another shameless plug, I'm also a mod on that site... LOL!

I looked but can't find the article. If I come accross it I'll post something.
