is there a stock set-up style to upgrade to bigger front brakes on a 77 grand prix?

Yes, the GP uses the same front brake spindles/11" rotors/calipers as the Firebird, so the B-Body (full size) wagon spindles can be used for the GP as well. The trick here is using the 1980 or newer wagon spindles which gives you bigger bearings as well as the 12" rotors. The calipers remain the same as the original GP parts as do the pads. The only issue is using the wagon rotors requires a switch to 5 on 5" bolt pattern wheels instead of 5 on 4 3/4". You can get around this by using rotors from the late 80's/early 90's Camaro/Firebird with 12" front rotors, these have the 5 on 4 3/4" pattern and big bearings to work with the wagon spindles. The only thing that remains a problem is the metric wheel studs in the later rotors, which are easily pounded out and new 7/16" studs installed. Depending on the wheels you have, there may be interference with the caliper using this conversion. Hope this helps.
