OK I want my 65 to set level. Not low or high in the back. Front height is perfect. I have installed 2 different sets of new orginal replacement rear springs. With either set installed it's about 1 1/2" lower then level. Installed a pair from a 64 or 65 Olds Vista Cruiser that pair raised the rear about 3". Tonight I installed a new set that according to NAPA parts guys is supossed to be in between the stock and wagon spring. Well I'm right back where I started 1 1/2" low in the rear. I hate air shocks and am afraid air bags may make it ride to hard. The way these springs are pig tailed on either end they cann't be cut. The coils are to far apart to use the spring rubbers also???????????

I suggest never to buy off the shelf springs. Go to your local spring shop that makes springs for heavy trucks, etc... They will weigh the front and back of the vehicle, and measure your current ride height. Tell them how you want the height to change and they will make new springs if needed or more likely if yours are in good shape they will either add another leaf, or swap out some of the leafs with ones that have more arc.

Thanks man but these are coils. To only guy that used to make custom coils is 250 miles from me around Portland, OR. But the tree huggers have forced him to shut down that part of his operation and to move to another location. He could only recommend off the hself stuff also. Also after studing the invoice with the new set that I installed last night they are the same as original not the mid range set I ordered. So here we go I probably bought them since they have been accepted and installed. Cann't anybody be trusted to do the right thing the first time???? Oh what the hech everything else on this project has been done atleast twice.

Hey my hat's off to the NAPA guys they looked at the invoice appolized and said they would reorder the correct springs for me Monday AM. Don't forget to get the "GOOD STUFF" even if they do sponsor a foreign makers NASCAR ride. Wouldn't it be nice to see the Pontiac arrow head flying around the NASCAR circuit. Just wonder what NHRA will do with Pontiac Pro Stockers????
