Im planning on having my 326 H.O. rebuilt, but had a few questions.  I want to squueze as much power as I can out of it while being pump gas friendly, but is keeping the stock 10.5:1 compression ok? Other than .030 over and 3 angle valve job, I'm open to every possibility their is, so any, and I mean any recommendations as far as internals (crank, pistons, cam, etc.) and carbs are very much appreciated! I also live in the bay area and any recommendations for shops would be great also.

Thanks, Rodd

Ok frist any thing over 9.5:1CR is too high for pump gas.If you use those heads you will need dish pistons or have the combustion chamber opened up. I need to know what the intended use is going to be street or street/strip before I recommend parts to you.

I plan on using the original heads (unless strongly opposed and discouraged), and car use will be street only.

You will need to have the combustion chambers opened up so that the CR doesn't exceed 9.5:1 Compression ratio.
I would also have a 5-angle valve job done on the heads.
I would get a good quality rebuild kit and have the necessary machine work done and put ARP rod bolts in the stock rods unless you decide to go with forged rods.
For the rebuild kit you might want to check out www.northernautoparts.com
I would also install a lunati cam & lifter kit P#lunati-00072LK it has a .458 lift
and a 600CFM holley carb. and a edelbrock performer intake should do it.
You could also have the heads and intake port matched.
Anything else just ask.

How about a stroker 326 block 455 crank turn the mains down have the rod turned to 2.00 stock bb chevy rods.ross pistons you must know what heads for cr and valve angle.contact jim butler or just go to powerblocktv click on musclecar and search for 67 lemans or tempest resto.that way you can get some specs.
