I have a 69 GTO which I’m in the process of fixing. The window wiper switch’s wash button is broken. I haven’t had much success in finding a replacement. It does not appear to be offered by the big Pontiac venders. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement switch? Would a 1970 switch work in the stock location in my 69?
Thanks for the help.

I would confidently assume that Ames would have the wiper switch. I have not looked for one in their catalog, but I bet it's in there. Get on the Ames website and order a free catalog.

Ames carries a lot of stuff, but they don’t carry this switch. What I’ve come to find out is that the switch was only used that one year. So, they are hard to find. I took my original switch apart to get at the internal contacts. What I found was corrosion and grime on the contacts. I cleaned them up and put the switch back together and now it works fine. I was concerned about opening the switch because I didn’t want to break the plastic tabs but, I managed. I also found one at a swap meat for a dollar from a guy that didn’t know what it was or where it came from. It works also. Now I have a spare. Thanks for the help.

Well you're all set. I am surprised Ames doesn't have that switch. I'll keep that in mind about opening up old switches and cleaning them out. Why replace it when you can fix it? A little dielectric grease inside the switch on the contacts might help it last, too.
