I recently rebuilt the engine in my 67 GTO.  I am very pleased with the rebuild especially the new comp cam.  I put headers on but had no idea of the upcoming problems with the clutch lever and brake junction box.  The engine is in and running however I have not been able to hook up the clutch or relocate the junction box.  Any thoughts or words of wisdom from someone who has been through this process would be much appreciated.

Did the manufacture state weither or not this set was made for a clutch car???????? What junction box do you mean??????? There are some after market guys that make new linkage for the clutch to fit certain headers. The header company should be able to help you with that.

I bought the hedders used, they are Hedman's I check the model number but did not see any diffrienation between manual and automatic.  I am talking about the brake equalizer, I called it a junction box incorrectly.

I take it that is not a disc brake car and you don't plan to change it. If you covert to discs the porportioning valve is up on the booster or after market bracket under the master cylinder. Good luck with the headers. All of them I checked out Hedman included were only made for console shifted automatic cars. I ended up with RAM Air manifolds and think they are great. Bought their down pipes and used Flow Master 2 1/2" pipes.

At this time I do not plan to convert to disc brakes.  I am planning to relocate the porportioning valve up by the master cylinder.   I did consider the Ram Air manifolds and honestly wish I had gone that way now.  I would imagine they flow just as good as headers?

For my combination and over all use they work great. I drive this car on the street mainly around town and on an ocassional road trip, like down to Reno for Hot August Nights. Plan to make a few passes down the strip just to see how we do. Cann't wait to go side by side with my wife in her 86 GN.

I may end up with the Ram Air manifolds if I can't make the regular headers work.  Going down the track with your wife sounds really cool!  I wish my husband was into cars....

What year Pontiac do you have?   I am thinking of going over to Hot August Nights this weekend.  I am down in the SF Bay area.
