Stripped harmonic balancer bolt?

The crank threads are stripped on my 96 firebird, 3800 v6. Would a heli coil be strong enough of a fix? There is a lot of room in front of the the engine so I think I can do it without too much trouble. Any other suggestions? Thanks.
