Bore a 326 out to a 389?

Hi, I am new here and have a nube question.  Can you bore a 326 block out to the specs of a 389?    I was thinking yes, because the main size and the stroke are the same.  Please correct me if I am wrong, If I am correct would a normal machine shop be able to do the bore?  Thanks for any help.

No you can not bore the 326 out to a 389.

The 326 can still be built to be a stout little engine.
