I have a 67 gto 400, 670 heads, stock intake and exhaust, stock ignition system with a 4 barrel quad, to the best of my knowledge everything is stock. I would like to add more power but I don't know where to start. I have been reading a lot of postings on the site and I have gotten a lot of info but still not sure on what to do. I would like to keep the stock look as much as possible with the most power as possible. Should I go with a different cam or start elsewhere?
Thanks.

Headers and a good cam would wake it up.

Ya on the cam I would recommend a Lunati P#LUN-00072LK which is a summit P# or the crane P#270-105072 which is a jegs P# right now summit has the Lunati on sale and it would be the better choice of the two and perform better.

Would I have to do anything to the heads (rollers, etc) with either one of these cams or is it a straight install? Thanks

No you should not have to do anything to the heads the cam should be fine with the factory springs.

Pontiacman8 do you have any suggestions on a set of headers? Since I can't afford an expensive pair (over 200 bucks) are there any cheaper ones that are worth the time?

Are there a lot of engine compartment mods needed to get them in? Thanks for helping Pontiacman8.

Pontiacman8, I installed that Lunati cam you recommended. I followed the install instructions to the letter but I have a slight problem. I did the break-in procedure per install instructions then I drove it for about 50 miles (nice and easy). I started the car the following day and I can hear, what sounds like, a slight chartering noise from under the valve covers. Do I need to tighten the rocker nuts or is there another problem? Thanks again for your time.

What did you adjust the lifters.

I set the lifters to zero lash plus a half turn on the compression stroke.
